A valid passport and visa are required for missionary travel to Papua New Guinea.

Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Papua New Guinea, with at least one blank passport page available for Papua New Guinea visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Papua New Guinea visas.


Papua New Guinea Visa Application Form:

One Papua New Guinea visa application form. After placing your order, fill out the application form included in your Visa Application Kit.


Photo Requirements:

One recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph in color, front view and with a plain/white background.

OR - you can upload a photo when you place your order, instead of providing physical passport photos.


Official Invitation:

An official invitation/visa approval notification issued by the Papua New Guinea Immigration Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and provided by host/sponsor in Papua New Guinea.


Letter Of Invitation:

A letter of invitation from the host organization or sponsor in Papua New Guinea explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel to Papua New Guinea. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and host’s name and contact information.


Business Letter

Letter from employer or sponsoring organization in the US, on official letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the organization, clearly stating the purpose of visit to Papua New Guinea. The letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Papua New Guinea.


Proof of Travel Arrangements:

Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Papua New Guinea.

Visa Processing Time:

Approval must be received from the government in Papua New Guinea in order for this visa to be issued. Processing time will vary depending on when the approval is received by the consulate. Visas are usually processed in 7 business days.
